Greige Yarn Inspection Check

PURPOSE: TO Ensure the quality of yarn before going to bulk production.

SCOPE: Applies to greige yarn used in auto.

DEFINITION:  TPI = Twist Per Inch.

Responsibility: Lab in-charge & QC in-charge.


PROCEDURE

• After receiving of a new lot of yarn ,store officer shall inform to the qc In charge for performing the inspection/checking of the yarn through a request form( F/ST/ )
• The Qc in-charge shall select the four cone randomly of a particular lot yarn and shall take for inspection/ check.
• The following parameters of yarn will be checked for yarn in the lab
• count
• Tpi 
• Following formula are used for measure :
• The Yarn Inspection result of for the above parameter will be recorded in the yarn test form(f/l). This record will be sent for qc department by lab in-charge
• For count check ( ) and for Tpi check ( )tolerance will be allowed.
• Sample fabric preparation
• For making of sample fabric 10 kg yarn will be collected store through the sample yarn requistion (F/Qc/10 ) From 10 kg yen 5kg white colour fabric 5kg dark colour fabric will be prepared.
• The following parameters shall be checked visually after preparing the sample fabrics:
• 1 Slub, 2 Contamination 3 Hairiness4 Thick &thin 5 Hole 6 Stripe
• The inspection results will be record in the greige inspection report ( F/QC/04)
• This sample fabric shall be dyed.
• The following parameters shall be checked visually after finishing of dyeing
• 1 Gsm Finished dia 3 Slubs 4 Contamination 5 Hairiness 6 Thick thin 7 Hole 8 Stripe 9Dead fiber
• The 4 point system will be applied for grading the Quality of sample fabrics and the result of Yarn Inspection will be recorded in the finished fabrics inspection report (F(QC/ O7)
• Qc in-charge shall prepare a over all status of greige yarn in the greige yarn evaluation form (f/qc/o6) and this report will be distributed manager production, manager marketing Asst. Manager knitting.
