OBJECTIVE: To confirm the process includes documentation of product quality, analysis of findings and application of results, ensuring finished products that meet or exceed BUYER standards.

What is Soft Lines Inspection Procedures? 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Process Inspections are required for every Purchase Order and must be conducted throughout the manufacturing process 
  • The Production Spec Pack must be followed throughout the Incoming Inspection Procedure
  • The Vendor Manual Book must be used with the Spec Pack, where applicable, for specific requirements
  • PIncoming Inspection Procedure must be documented and documentation available for review upon request
  • All defects found during the manufacturing process must be repaired or replaced to ensure first quality products
  • “BUYER accepts only first quality merchandise” 

INSPECTION PROCESS

PREPARATION


  • Confirm style approved fo production 
  • Confirm raw material and garment testing complete and approved 
  • Confirm Approved Production Sample is on-site 

PATTERN ;Inspect patterns to:


1. Confirm number of pieces in style against Cutter’s Must

2. Confirm sizing

3. Grade increments

4. Shrinkage / production allowance

5. Confirm accuracy of template / guide

MARKER;Inspect marker sections to:


1. Confirm cut direction against Production Spec Pack

2. Confirm match requirements against Production Spec Pack

3. Confirm number of sizes marked against Purchase Order


FABRIC INSPECTION


1. 4 Point System is used to determine acceptability of fabric quality

2. Minimum quantity for Incoming Inspection Procedure determined by the following Fabric Sampling Plan

If the initial inspection fails, contact the Agent/Erk Pazarlama AS to advise the status

RE-SCREEN / REPAIR

OBJECTIVE: Ensure repairs result in 1st quality products that meet or exceed buyer standards


REQUIREMENTS


Any repair made to defective workmanship must have full function and no visual evidence of repair

REPAIR GUIDELINES


For repairs made during component / small parts, sub-assembly or Assembly operations:

· All repairs must be unstitched, resewn with exact matching thread and S.P.CM., trimmed and cleaned of all threads

· No partial re-sewing of any operation is acceptable

· Visible needle holes / needle cuts are not acceptable

· Repairs made to finished garments must follow these guidelines by operation:

Lock / Chainstitch Repairs :


· Allowable repairs:

1. Seam length 45cms or less – One (1)

2. Seam length greater than 45 cms – Two (2)

· Overlap must be 4–5 stitches at start and end of each break point

· S.P.CM., thread size and color must match

· Threads must be pulled to inside, tied off and trimmed


Felled Seam Repairs


· Can be repaired with a lockstitch if no more than 2cms

1. Tie in must be 4-5 stitches, stitch on stitch at both ends

2. Threads must be pulled to inside, tied off and trimmed

· Repairs 2cms or more must be unstitched, resewn, trimmed and cleaned of all threads


Safetystitch and Serge Repairs


· Allowable repairs:

1. Seam length 45cms or less – One (1)

2. Seam length greater than 45cms– Two (2)

· Run-on / run-off must be 1.5cms at start and end of each break point

· Repairs to the safetystitch chain can be repaired with chain or lock stitch as outlined above (Lock / Chainstitch Repairs)

· Threads must be trimmed


Bartack Repairs


· Tack must be completely cleaned and re-tacked

· No tack on tack acceptable


Buttonhole Repairs


· Repair by hand sew, no visual / noticeable difference acceptable


Component Replacement or Repair


· Exact fabric color match – shade variation not acceptable

· S.P.I., thread size and color must match

· Paired components must match; i.e. cuffs, sleeves, pockets

Label Set / Placement

· Must be unstitched, resewn, trimmed and cleaned of all threads

Trim / Findings Set or Placement


· Must be unstitched, resewn, trimmed and cleaned of all threads

· If trim / finding is defective or incorrectly placed, it must be replaced for full functionality showing no evidence of repair.

- Where you mention the water soluble you state that Poly thin is harmful for the environment, but then you give it a severity of 1. Does this mean that there is no poly thin used, as otherwise this grading would not make sense. Please could you check and advise.

TI: This is actually water soluble lining looks like polythene. Mistakenly written by polythene. Sorry for inconvenience.

- I still don't understand how you get to the percentile. Please could you explain your examples.

Environment #5 Inventory of water usage

Please find water inventory report attached herewith. IE: Received the attachment with many thanks but it did not clarify my 2 queries. Please see again below and please could you advise.

- Please could you advise what the water that you are keeping the inventory for is used in AEL?

TI: Domestic use water.

- You mention number of pcs for JEL. What relevance does that have to the water usage? Are you washing embroidered pcs? Please could you clarify.

TI: That was provided which was made for combined for Auto Textiles Ltd, Babylon Washing & Juniper Embroideries Ltd. The water uses is relevant with domestic use only for Incoming Inspection Procedure
