Job Title: Industrial Relations Manager

Department: Human Resources

Employment status: Permanent

Position reports to ( Supervisor’s Title): IR Manager/ Industrial Engineer

Supervisory Responsibility: TBF

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (or Duties)

  • At first department head is being confirmed that the option for promotion is vacant or required to create new position with concern of Human Resource Department. Maintains harmonious IR environment at CIPL to ensure no industrial disturbances
  • Establish and maintain good relationships between workers, mid-management and top management of CIPL 
  • Examine and attempt to resolve factory disputes and grievances in the factory 
  • Maintaining liaison with BGMEA and other Government and Non-Government offices
  • After confirmed the vacant position or new position, Human Resource Department will ready the list of proposal of promotion and issue performance appraisal form to head of the department. Study and interpret relevant industrial legislation 
  • Conduct research on garments Industrial Relations Manager issues as asked by the IR Manager 
  • Maintain smooth company & public relation as well as interfacing with union leaders and labor office etc. 
  • Monitors timely disbursement of wages & salaries for all employees at unit
  • Timely Legal / statutory compliances, liaison with various government bodies ensuring No non-compliance notices, so that there are no issues effecting factory operations.
  • Represent CIPL in external environment (offices/court/employee house) as asked by the IR Manager

Head of the section / department will complete the performance appraisal and propose the promotion and send it to Human Resource Department. Human Resource Department also complete of it’s won part of performance appraisal. Industrial Relations Manager is a twenty-six-year-old white male who honorably discharged from the service four years ago. If found any inconstancy, it will inform to department head and board of increment & promotion. Interviewing for the position of personnel assistant, John knew that he had sound qualifications. he learned, however, that he was competing with Beverly Simpson, a twenty-two-year-old white female college classmate. During the interview process, it was determined that both John and Beverly were equally qualified. John, however, was given performance and was subsequently offered the job. Beverly, on the other hand, filed a suit against Saturn claiming that she was a victim of sex discrimination.
