Job Title: Executive, Industrial Relations

Department: Human Resources

Employment status: Permanent

Position reports to ( Supervisor’s Title): IR Manager/ HR manager 

Supervisory Responsibility: TBF

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities (or Duties)

  • Identify bottleneck operation & solve it with immediate effect.
  • Washing Techniques five day training from Washing Ltd. Objective of Training different type washing process and theirs effect. Implements policies on IR issues at CIPL to maintain harmonious IR environment 
  • Conducts regular visit to the floor and offices to maintain good relationships and report status to the higher authorityevelop practical knowledge in apparel manufacturing process & technology.  
  • Monitor and record factory dispute and grievances, provide first hand solution and inform immediately to the Manager
  • Evaluate new operator for recruitment & perform operator assessment yearly. Prepare reports/letters/other official documents to maintain liaison with BGMEA and other Government and Non-Government offices
  • Assists in conduct of research on garments industrial relations issues 
  • Ensuring announcement and placement of all notices in due time 
  • Represent CIPL in external environment (offices/court/employee house) as asked by the IR Manager
  • Loading report, p .p sample collect and size set cutting.
  • Meeting with internal and external people (such as different unions) to improve industrial relations and to make improvement in productivity. Effective communication with CAD section for smooth delivery of marker & pattern.
  • Ensure production target of the line as per production plan. Process salary negotiations, settlement for resignations, terminations, dismissals etc
  • Line capacity study. Provides workers counseling to find out best possible solutions 
  • Performs other related duties/ responsibilities assigned by CIPL Management.

Industrial Relation Meeting

SOP : The SOP was distributed to all Team Heads. Team Heads have to go through the SOP (also in ERP) with team members. Everyone in the company is expected to work on the set procedure of the SOP. Periodically, Team Heads have to check with team members on the contents of the SOP by either oral or written tests. The MC will randomly check if everyone is aware of the contents of the SOP.The hard copies of the SOP have to be only with the Team Heads. No copies of the SOP are to be made. All matters related to the office are present in the SOP and it is important for everyone to know how other departments work. All questions abt SOP to be addressed in the next TL meeting or with the concerned VP. Cutting efficiency report, Line wise daily target setting & monitoring.

Travel Allownce

  • All the allowances are mentioned in the SOP and are to be adhered to.
  • Bill for domestic travels shd be cleared within 7 days.
  • Need to add a row for merchandiser in the domestic travel policy.
  • Planning of Trips – always need to send a request in MIS for admin to know and to action the procedures.
  • TLs to always check if we can get better deals online or with travel agents and then ask Admin to book the ticket. In case of online tickets, can use company credit cards.
  • Advances will be accordingly to SOP. In case of group travel or prepaid bills, advances will be less. Can also use own credit card for payment and Zxy will reimburse. All bills to be cleared within 14 days of return from overseas travel. If not, it will be deducted from salaries.
  • Visas – need to be planned well in time and all company documents shd be requested 7 days in advance.
  • Airlines Miles – always try to make use of miles for regular travelers. For first time traveler in a specific airline, always register to the club membership.

Road Speech

Hourly production study. Need to babysitters – since our speed of reply and actioning what the buyers ask for is very slow. TL to get a grip with communication and to understand exactly what the buyers want. The hunger for business/passion shd replaced our complacent attitude. Since we are responsible for the turnover and profitability of our respective teams, we shd not lose what is in our hands but shd also increase business with our buyers. Training worker & staff about effective workplace to reduce unnecessary handling.

Line follow up continuously for achieve target. Customer complaints – our stubbornness and obstruction at every point. We do not for all the options before saying NO. Speed of reaction/dynamism and proactiveness are the keys of a successful company. TLs need to visit fties and pick up samples more often and do the costing/sampling exercise Sampling – TLs are expected to check all samples before they are sent to the clients.
EGO – biggest problem of any organization. Zxy is one team. Team members – TLs to get rid of their lame ducks and if possible, train them properly. If the customer is paying our salaries, they are OUR responsibility (shipment on time/right quality/correct sampling / planned customer visits / weekly talks to customers)
